AUXO Cira Review: Tons of Versatility and Great Battery Life

By Vaping 360, February 25, 2022

What is it?

The AUXO Cira is a portable electric dab rig. It includes a glass bubbler mouthpiece and is powered by two batteries for a 2000 mAh total capacity. The device itself resembles a tall slim box mod and the mouthpiece looks like a mini bubbler. It’s like an e-nail meets a vape mod.

AUXO is relatively new to the cannabis industry. They primarily focus on vaporization technology for flower and cannabis concentrates. I have reviewed a bunch of portable dab rigs over the past few years. I can’t wait to see how the Cira compares to the best e-nails I’ve tested.

The device was sent courtesy of AUXO for the purpose of this review.

 What’s in the box?

Best Wax Pens

The AUXO Cira kit comes with a lot of stuff packaged neatly into one slick box. It includes the Cira device, the glass bubbler, charging cable, charging dock, wall adapter, dab tool, carb cap, two coils, some cleaning swabs, and a silicone tether for attaching the carb cap to the mouthpiece. I especially like the big and beefy dab tool that it comes with.

The packaging is very modern and clean. The box also serves as a decent carrying case. The kit includes two varieties of heating chambers, titanium and quartz. It also includes the charging dock, but you have the option to charge it with the included cable when on the go.

E-Rigs

The Cira device itself stands at about 130 mm in height and is 76 mm wide and just under 60 mm in depth. It weighs around 340 grams, not including the glass mouthpiece section. The glass bubbler is firmly held onto the base by three O-rings, and the carb cap sits on top. The device has an OLED screen and a wavy texture on the top. It has a small footprint for an e-nail.

The device heats up in about 20 seconds and has a temperature range of 450°F-1000°F (232°C-538°C) which is adjustable in 10-degree increments. The 2000 mAh battery is rated for up to 30 sessions, based on an average 50-second session–which is a whole lot of dabbing!

The heating chambers thread onto the base just like a replaceable coil head. For some reason, the metal base of the device isn’t as solid as I would have expected–there is a bit of play to it. Not a huge con, but worth mentioning. It’s not that noticeable with the glass mouthpiece attached.

How to use the Cira

Using the Cira is pretty simple. You don’t need to be experienced with dabbing to use it. It takes a few sessions to get the hang of the controls, but after that, it becomes second nature. I was expecting it to do the five clicks on/off thing, but you actually have to hold the button for a few seconds.

Here is a rundown of how to use the AUXO Cira:

  • Press and hold the power button for two seconds to turn on/off.
  • Use the up/down buttons to adjust the temperature.
  • Thread a heating element to the base of the Cira.
  • Place a small dab into the chamber using the dab tool.
  • Secure the glass section and carb cap to the device.
  • Press the power button twice to initiate the heating cycle.
  • Place the carb cap on top and inhale from the mouthpiece.
  • Press the up button twice to continue the session for 30 seconds.

How does it perform?

E-Rigs

I tested the Cira with both the quartz and the titanium heating chambers. The titanium one hit a lot harder, without a doubt. They both produce very good flavor but the quartz one even more so. I’d say that the quartz heating chamber is ideal for flavor chasers, while the titanium is for the heavy hitters. But even at higher temperatures, the quartz chamber doesn’t retain as much heat, so it produces cleaner flavor.

I tested out the lower temp settings with some live resin crumble and the quartz heating chamber. The clouds were pretty mellow but the flavor was slamming. I also tried out some shatter on the titanium nail on a higher temp setting and it gave me a more intense cloud. Of course, the flavor wasn’t as clean as the low-temp quartz dab, but the puffs were satisfying

All in all, the hits were smooth and flavorful when used in the right temp range. It doesn’t produce the biggest clouds, but I get a few gentle rips off a tiny amount of concentrate. And it heats up very fast. Once it gets to around 300-400 °F, it shoots up quickly. The sessions last for 29 seconds but you can extend it for an additional 15 seconds by double-clicking the plus button. This function only works during the last 10 seconds of your session, but you can keep it going for a series of sessions. This comes in real handy for group sessions with friends. All they have to do is puff, puff, pass.

The Cira takes just under two hours to charge, which is not bad considering its huge battery life. You have the option of plugging in the USB adapter manually or using the charging dock. If you keep it on the charging dock when not in use, you can always have it charged and ready to go.

How to clean the Cira

E-Rigs

Cleaning the Cira doesn’t take a lot of effort. You just need to swab out the chamber after each session and maintain the glass section. When the chamber gets really dirty, you can soak it in alcohol, rinse it out, and let it dry. Eventually, you’ll have to buy replacement heating chambers.

Here is how to clean the Cira:

  • Swab the chamber after every session with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
  • Remove the chamber and soak in alcohol for a deeper clean.
  • Clean the glass section with alcohol and sea salt or your cleaning solution of choice.
  • Use an alcohol pad to clean the device itself, especially the contacts and base.
  • Make sure all of the components are completely dry before using.
  • Higher temp dabs will make your heating chambers much harder to maintain.

Pros / Cons

+ Easy to use
+ Good flavor
+ Fast heat-up times
+ Wide temperature range
+ Long-lasting 2000 mAh battery
+ Kit includes charging dock
+ Quartz and titanium coil options
+ Relatively low maintenance
+ Includes a nice dab tool

- Metal base section is not very sturdy
- Mild vapor production

Verdict

At the end of the day, I like the Cira. It performs just as well as some of the e-rigs I’ve tested that go for around double the price! I would have preferred a non-proprietary charging option, but the battery life is so good that I can hardly complain. My only other issue is with the wobbly base section. I thought it was defective, but two of the devices I tested came that way.

I don’t see the Cira replacing a full-sized rig, but it’s a nice portable option to have. It offers a lot of versatility and crazy good battery life. It gets the job done and is easy to use and maintain.
